As a Make-up Artist and Hair Stylist I tend to the people and critics saying the common phrase... "It's just hair..." OR "It's just makeup.. How hard could it be?"
I found this article in a magazine the other day and wanted to share it with the public, to explain what it is that I do as a Make-up Artist and a Hair Stylist that the 'norm' cannot do.....
*Transform a wimpy actor into a ferocious warrior, or a Plain-Jane actress into a striking woman who turns every head.
*Take brief descriptions of characters in books or scripts and brings them to life far beyond what the writers ever dreamed they could be.
*Create the evil monster who strikes fear in the heart and allows the hero to be brave and victorious.
*Create disguises that allow cops to catch criminals or get good guys out of bad places.
*Help emergency personnel prepare to face real-life situations.
*Enhance blushing brides and create looks that will be cherished for a lifetime.
*Help those dealing with injuries or illness to look and feel better about themselves.
*Enable those with birth defects and disfigurements to feel whole and complete.
*Offer a gentle touch or a kind word to the people in our chairs, inspiring them to breathe more deeply, gather themselves together and strive to be the best people they can be.
*See the potential in someone's face.
*Make it possible to believe.
---I'm not saying that we always do all these things I am simply suggesting that we ALWAYS have the opportunity to do these things. Just something to think about.
